Learning Golf at Oakmont
Learning Golf at Oakmont
Led by our Director of Instruction, John Yacobellis, our team has constructed the most comprehensive and well-rounded program in the North Bay. Our goal is to offer an instruction opportunity for every golfer, from beginner to scratch.
Our emphasis, as always, is on personalized learning. We do not teach a system or method. Ours is a student-centered approach, and even our clinics include one-on-one instruction.
Digital video is used in our individual and joint lessons, and students will be able to review their sessions via voice-over video clips on the Internet.
2010 Golf Instruction Booklet
Our current programs are outlined in a new booklet available in both pro shops. For more information or to sign up for instruction, please call John Yacobellis at 707-696-3348.
Individual instruction, arguably the best way to learn, is available in several forms. In addition to traditional Private Lessons, we offer Tee for Two, private lessons for two persons. Both may be taken singly or in series. Playing Lessons are also part of our curriculum. We have two innovations: The Flexible Choice, where you decide the length of your lessons and pay by the minute, and The Practice Club, which is your chance to have a PGA professional oversee and guide your practice sessions.
Our Beginning Golf 101, Intermediate Golf 201, and Clinics offer Group Instruction, while our Golf Schools are available in Half-Day, Three-Day, or Corporate formats.
Please consult the 2010 Golf Instruction Booklet for details.
2010 Junior Golf Camps
Our 36th Annual Junior Camp will again feature two sessions, July 26 through July 29, and August 2 through August 5. The camp is open to juniors between the ages of 8 and 17. Tuition is $110 for proprietary members and $130 for all others.
The juniors will receive instruction in the fundamentals of the full swing, short game, and putting, as well as a liberal dose of golf etiquette. There will be a very small student-teacher ratio, and all groups will be led by a PGA Class "A" Professional or Apprentice.
Registration begins June 15th at the West Pro Shop.
